Can I just have some pizza PLEASE.........

The last couple of days I have been craving some real cheat foods.  So I went searching for some Clean Eating Pizza.  Sometimes we just have to fool ourselves into thinking we are doing something we are not supposed to be doing.....

I found a great recipe for Whole Wheat Pizza Dough from The Clean Eating Club online.

Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

Ingredients:
  • 1 package active dry yeast (.25 ounce)
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 c. wheat germ
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. honey
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place warm water in small bowl.  Add yeast.  Allow the yeast to dissolve and set aside until mixture becomes creamy (appx. 10 minutes).
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine wheat flour, wheat germ, and salt.  Scoop a well in the middle of the mixture and add the honey and yeast mixture.  Stir until ingredients are well combined.  Cover mixture with a dishtowel or plastic wrap and sit in a warm place and allow to raise for approximately 5 minutes.  *This is where I drizzle with a garlic-grapeseed oil mix I buy from Wildtree Culinary Club.*
  4. Roll dough on a floured pizza pan.  Using a fork, poke a few holes in the dough.
  5. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until desired crispness.
*You can substitute the garlic-grapeseed oil with an oil of your choosing or use none at all.  It’s just a little something extra I add because this particular garlic oil gives my pizza a little extra hint of garlic that I love.

A Quick and Simple Sauce to make any homemade pizza very special.
Ingredients
  • 1- 15 oz. can of tomato sauce-no salt added
  • 1- 6 oz. can of tomato paste-no salt added
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
Directions
  1. In a small mixing bowl, mix tomato sauce and paste until they are smooth. Add rest of ingredients and mix well.
Notes
This recipe makes enough sauce for two pizzas. If you only need sauce for one, then you can freeze the rest. Will keep in the freezer for a month.

Top your pizza with Fresh Veggies and Chicken Breast sliced thin.  Add a little but of low fat mozzarella.  Just go easy on the cheese!!!
